Established in 1887 by Austro-Hungarian immigrant Jacob Rieger, J. Rieger & Co. grew to be the largest mail-order whiskey purveyor in the world. The distillery was shut down by Prohibition, only to be reborn in 2014 when our co-founders, including the great-great-great-grandson of Jacob Rieger, resurrected the brand. Today we provide award-winning spirits, innovative cocktails, and memorable experiences to our guests at our historic distillery in Kansas City’s Electric Park District. The Hey! Hey! Club is an intimate underground bar featuring elevated cocktails and upscale small bites.
Electric Park Garden Bar is a one-of-kind outdoor bar experience featuring delicious frozen cocktails and our own food truck.
The Heritage Tour is a one-hour guided distillery tour featuring a behind-the-scenes look at our production and barrel aging facilities. Your tour concludes with a 15-minute tasting of our four core spirits led by one of our knowledgeable guides.
The Whiskey Tour is a one-hour guided tour of J. Rieger & Co. featuring a deeper dive into our most prominent spirits programs – whiskey! Your tour concludes with a 15-minute tasting of four of our favorite whiskeys.
The Signature Tour is a two-hour guided tour, led by a senior member of our team. This tour includes a curated gift bag, light appetizers, a tasting of seven whiskeys, and concludes with hand filling your own 200ml bottle of single barrel whiskey.

The Distillery is conveniently located 1.5 miles East of the River Market, in the historic Electric Park district of the East Bottoms.
Allow extra travel time as we are located directly next to active train tracks. Follow the Electric Park detour signs should you get stuck at a train crossing.
Parking is available in the complimentary surface lot on the west side of the building (on N. Montgall Ave.)
